Mission Statement: We will improve the physical appearance and economic performance of urban neighborhoods

The Neighborhood Design Center is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation founded in 1982 to provide affordable conceptual design and planning services to central city neighborhoods, businesses, property owners, associations, organizations, and developers. Our services extend beyond the city of Columbus into surrounding municipalities and central Ohio counties. The design center's goal is to assist in planning architectural improvements in the lesser served and neglected urban areas and communities. Its years of experience have given the design center a strong understanding of the unique aspects of central city development, as well as the ability to work with the residents and businesses in these areas to meet their desires and needs.

Our funding comes from the Ohio State University, the City of Columbus Department of Development, and grants and fees for our services

Our team consists of architectural and landscape designers, planners, and interns enrolled in the Ohio State University-Knowlton School of Architecture.
